East Texas Infectious Disease Consultants, PLLC


A graduate of the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Dr. Fults has been practicing Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine since 1968. He now has more than thirty years intensive experience in the treatment of injuries related to accidents and rehabilitation medicine. He performs pain management procedures on East Texas patients including injections, spinal decompression, physical therapy and more.

With a focus on pain management at Pain Recovery Center of Tyler, he has experience in evaluating patients for aggressive/conservative therapy versus surgical procedures, including both the diagnosis and the treatment of primary spinal injuries.

Scope of Medical Practice
  • Pain Medicine and Management. I have more than thirty years intensive experience in the treatment of injuries related to accidents and rehabilitation medicine. I perform selective and pain management procedures to include Epidural Steriods, Stellate Ganglion Blocks, Brachial Plexus Blocks,Neurotomys, Cervical and Lumbar Facet Injections, as well as other selective nerve blocks and trigger point injections. Additionally, I have experience in evaluating patients for aggressive/conservative therapy versus surgical procedures. This experience includes both the diagnosis and the treatment of Primary Spinal Injuries.
Disability Evaluations
  • I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians. The Academy has currently gained recognition in the Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers' Compensation System for the purpose of performing Impairment Ratings as a Designated doctor. Additionally, I have performed Independent Medical Evaluations for most major insurance carriers. I perform Second Opinions and IMEs, both for plaintiffs and defense firms. I have been a medical examiner for FAA.

Now with 20 years of experience and in addition to serving the pain management needs of the Pain Recovery of Tyler patients, Dr. Islam's focus is the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) specialized weight control program, bioidentical hormone therapy and VelaShape.

Prior to joining Tyler Wellcare, Dr. Islam followed her LSU summa cum laude microbiology and Tulane University School of Medicine graduations with Internal Medicine Internship at Delaware Medical Center. Leaving Delaware, Dr. Islam found her Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation calling at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Islam has been a part of the team at Tyler Wellcare since 2007.
